Water Safety National Benchmark Bundle

This pack provides parents and caregivers with the information they need to determine if their child would be safe around water in the event of an accidental fall. This Bundle pack includes a checklist tailored for different National Benchmark age groups, which are aligned with the national water safety standards established by Royal Life Saving Australia. 

As aquatic providers, we understand that many children fall short of meeting the national benchmarks for their age group. This guide aims to support both providers and parents in assessing whether they are ready for a real-life situation. While most children complete swimming lessons by age 10, it is clear that many families tend to shift to other sports without fulfilling the requirements necessary beyond basic swimming lessons.
